The Power of Self-Appreciation
The Lemon Drop: Give Yourself Credit
Tired of being your own toughest critic? It's time to rewrite the script and acknowledge your achievements!
In this Lemon Drop, we'll delve into the art of giving yourself credit and embracing a more positive mindset. In this issue, we'll explore the impact of self-criticism and offer actionable steps to appreciate your accomplishments.
The Slice: My Work Towards Killing My Inner Critic
I love giving genuine compliments. I know the impact it can make. Watching the transfer of energy and mood shifts when the person lights up is all the reason I love sharing my positive thoughts. On the other hand, receiving and accepting compliments is still a weakness of mine. It makes me uncomfortable. I am extremely hard on myself. I manage to brush off praise or recognition because of my own narrative belittling successes and achievements. My “inner critic” dismisses victories, big or small, and will amplify false promises.
Recognizing this has forced me to be mindful about shifting this narrative and “killing my inner critic”. I make a conscious effort to give myself praise for my efforts and skills that have led to successes. This includes daily wins and long-term goals because it has formed the habit in my mind of accepting the narrative of “I am enough”. I have made it a priority to foster the principle of self-appreciation because being the greatest fan of your own life is crucial.
The Squeeze: The Power of Self-Appreciation Neglecting to give ourselves credit can erode our self-confidence and motivation. By recognizing your accomplishments, you shift your perspective and build a more positive self-image. Self-appreciation fuels self-confidence, motivating you to embrace your potential and pursue your goals.
Practical Pointers: Embrace Self-Appreciation
Reflect on Achievements: Recall moments when you achieved something you're proud of.
Acknowledge Efforts: Recognize the hard work and skills that led to your success.
Set Small Goals: Establish achievable goals and celebrate when you reach them.
Positive Reinforcement: Counter self-criticism with self-appreciation.
Cultivate Self-Care: Take care of yourself and acknowledge your progress.
The Sip: Embrace Self-Appreciation…One Step at a Time Start giving yourself credit for your achievements—big or small. Set achievable goals, celebrate your progress, and challenge negative self-talk. As you practice self-appreciation, you'll notice a shift in your mindset and an increase in self-confidence. Be the greatest fan of your life.

Weekly Book Tease!
I am writing a book, Always Squeezing Lemons! Everything I am writing about evolves around “Taking Responsibility To Define Your Own Success”. Here is the concept from this Lemon Drop you can expect to see in my book…
Give yourself the credit you deserve that has led to your successes. Pride yourself on the things you are proud of, not what others are proud of you for.
