What feeling suffocated really is

The Lemon Drop: When Something Isn't for You

Have you ever felt suffocated by a situation or relationship?

Welcome to another Lemon Drop, where we discuss the importance of letting go of what’s not right for you to make space for what is, what this feeling really means and why it's crucial to listen to it.

The Slice: Recognizing When Something Isn't for You

Feeling suffocated is a clear sign that something in your life isn't right. This feeling is extremely important to acknowledge and not ignore. The feeling of suffocation usually forms when you are in a situation or relationship due to outside pressure. It is something your heart is not in or is not authentic to you. When this happens you typically find yourself in an uncomfortable situation with a double-edged sword because it will be uncomfortable to make a move but it is already uncomfortable to stay. This is where the power of your choice will design your destiny moving forward. I’ve been here and my best advice is to release what holds you back and make room for what truly fits.

The Squeeze: The Impact of Holding On to the Wrong Things

In the journey of life, forcing yourself into or staying in situations that aren't right for you can leave you feeling trapped and suffocated. Let's dive into how recognizing and acting on these feelings can lead to greater freedom and fulfillment. By letting go of what doesn't serve you, you open the door to opportunities that align with your true self.

Practical Pointers: Letting Go and Embracing the Right Things

  1. Listen to Your Feelings: Pay attention to feelings of suffocation as signals that something isn't right. As I write in my book…trust your gut!

  2. Evaluate Your Situations: Assess areas of your life where you feel trapped and consider why that might be.

  3. Take Courageous Steps: Even if it's scary, take steps to let go of what’s wrong for you.

  4. Say No: Practice saying no to things that don't align with your values or bring you peace.

  5. Welcome the Right Opportunities: Create space for the right things by letting go of what’s not serving you.

The Sip: Embrace the Freedom of Letting Go

By recognizing when something isn't for you and having the courage to let it go, you free yourself to embrace what truly matters. Each no to the wrong things is a yes to the right ones. Embrace this mindset, and let it guide you towards a life filled with opportunities that bring joy and fulfillment.
