Patience.
In a highly overstimulated, easily influenced society with access to everything we need at our fingertips, patience has become an extremely underrated virtue.
We’re programmed to want what we want, how we want it and at the time we choose.
We react rather than respond with purpose.
We settle for instant gratification over long-term satisfaction.
We succumb to easy access rather than growing into something or with someone worth waiting to watch prosper.
We end up with expectations for an overnight success that can never be fulfilled without years of commitment and dedication.
We want to see growth, and have it now, without wanting to put the work in.
Sometimes we want something, but we are not ready to receive it. Trust in divine right timing.
Work hard and stay true to yourself.
Have faith. God has a plan. You can always trust his plan is more beautiful than what you may have planned for.
We must be patient.
Why?
It is easy to settle. It is easy to be comfortable and "fine". It is easy to find the next available person or thing because it is right at our fingertips...literally.
You can choose who you want to go on a date with by swiping left or right. You have an entire world of knowledge in your hands with one online search. You order anything you need or want with your card already saved and ready to be charged. You can have it delivered that same day. Even within a few hours. For this reason...
We live in a world of unmatched efficiency. We also live in a world with an expectation of instant gratification.
We want it all and we want it now. Because of the access we have to everything we can "have it all" now. Or at least what we might believe that be...
What ever happened to "the best things come to those who wait"?
This should never be interpreted as sitting around and waiting for shit to happen. Expecting that is as unreasonable as Bud Lights new marketing strategies. You have to make things happen for yourself. Take risks. Embrace new opportunities.
The main principle being...The best things in life do not come with an immediate reaction or response. They require patience.
Real accomplishments, rewards and success do not just happen. It takes years of hard work, dedication, sacrifice, struggles and commitment to master a craft, build a business or perfect a hobby.
Applying these principles takes time. Time requires patience.
Successful and prosperous relationships do not form after one fun night. It takes years of learning to love someone for all they are. It also takes YOUR right person.
Waiting and not settling requires patience.
We do not have time to waste but we also do not need to be catching whatever the fuck is thrown at us out of impatience and loneliness.
Patience is tough. Just because we can have it does not mean we should...
Appreciate the efficiency of the world we live in, while learning to manage the "want for now" expectation. React and respond with a built purpose. Trust in divine right timing. Do not settle. Be Patient.
