Why stagnation hurts more than failure

The Lemon Drop:

Stagnation is far more uncomfortable than failure because it traps us in a cycle of inaction and “what ifs.” While failure can sting, it’s a sign of effort and growth—a step closer to progress. Stagnation, on the other hand, breeds frustration, self-doubt, and regret as we watch time slip by without moving forward.

Failure teaches, builds resilience, and opens doors to new possibilities, but stagnation keeps us stuck, depriving us of the chance to learn, evolve, and live fully. Choosing action, even at the risk of failure, is far more empowering than standing still.

Journal Prompt

Think about a time when you felt stuck or stagnant in a situation. How did it impact your mindset or emotions? What would have happened if you had taken a step, even if it was a small risk, and embraced the potential for failure? How can you break free from stagnation and embrace action moving forward?
