Accountability Reminder to Avoid Unfulfilled Promises
The Lemon Drop: The Power of Month-End Check-Ins
As we approach the end of February, it's time for a crucial self-check: Are you holding yourself accountable to the goals you set at the beginning of the year, or have you found yourself falling short?
In this Lemon Drop, we close out the month with a reflection on our commitment to success. Today, we emphasize the significance of regular check-ins to prevent the disappointment of unfulfilled promises.
The Slice: Accountability Reminder - Closing Out February with a Check-In
A common trend for many of us is to start a New Year with some lofty goals, stay committed through the month of January, start to see some improvement and then start to fall off. I write this newsletter because I understand this challenge. But I also understand how it feels when I’ve made false promises to myself because of not holding strong to a goal or commitment. What I know for sure is no matter what the goal or challenge is, staying committed and making the necessary sacrifices to achieve it are never as hard as facing the disappointment of an unfulfilled promise to yourself.
A goal is a commitment to yourself and navigating the path to self-improvement involves periodic assessments to ensure alignment with your goals. Month-end check-ins are powerful because it scales what typically is a longer term goal into a shorter time frame to reflect and celebrate progress. Reflecting at the end of each month allows for adjustments and renewed commitments made along the way. This is your reminder of how valuable checking in with yourself and realigning your aspirations for the upcoming months are. This will also ensure false promises will not be a disappointment you have to face.
